Pipeline Infrastructure Improvements Update

Wednesday, September 4, 2019

CLEVELAND – On Thursday, September 12, 2019 Dominion Energy Ohio’s gas pipeline infrastructure replacement project will begin on the following streets:

  • Detroit Avenue – From West 89th Street to West 96th Street.
  • West 91st Street – From Detroit Avenue to Desmond Avenue.
  • West 93rd Street – From Detroit Avenue to Desmond Avenue.
  • West 95th Street – From Detroit Avenue to Desmond Avenue.
  • Desmond Avenue – From West 91st Street to West 95th Street.

The improvements include replacing the old steel mainline with a new plastic mainline in the sidewalk area. A work zone will be established in the curb lane on Detroit Avenue which will allow continuous two-way traffic to be maintained. Traffic control personnel will be present to help direct traffic flow. On the side streets, a one lane work zone will be established with traffic control personnel present at each end of the work zone directing traffic. A law enforcement officer will be present at all signalized intersections. Access to adjacent driveways on Detroit and the side-streets will be maintained throughout construction. All work zones will be removed at the end of each work day. The work on the project will take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This project is scheduled for completion in December 2019. If the weather prevents permanent restorations to the sidewalk, temporary sidewalk will be installed until permanent restorations can be completed in the spring.
