Wednesday, May 22, 2024 — Cleveland — Registration is open for the City of Cleveland’s 2024 catalog of FREE Neighborhood Resource and Recreation Center Summer Activities and Expanded Programs. New this year is the CivicRec online registration platform, a one-stop destination for all things related to City recreation facilities and programming.
The City implemented the CivicRec platform to modernize delivery of programs, increase access, and streamline the registration process for camps, classes and other recreation activities. The new platform allows residents to sign up for a free membership to their Neighborhood Recreation and Resource Center (NRRC), sign waivers, and register for activities all in one place.
"Our commitment to modernize city services includes ensuring residents have easy access to programs and resources,” said Sam Gissentaner, Cleveland’s Commissioner of Recreation. “Residents have asked us to simplify the registration process and we are pleased to deliver with CivicRec, a tool that is consistent with best practices in parks and recreation program management.”
Once fully implemented, CivicRec will allow residents to:
- Submit registrations, waivers, and documents online
- Sign up for special events
- View availability calendars for pavilions, fields, gyms, activity rooms, and more
- See NRRC, park, pool and program updates in real time
Beginning June 10, 2024, Cleveland residents will require a free CivicRec account and membership to utilize city NRRCs and sign up for FREE recreation programs and activities.
The City of Cleveland’s FREE summer recreation programs offer activities for all ages, from toddlers to seniors. Cleveland's youth programs are also part of the Summer Soundtrack Series in partnership with the Cleveland Metropolitan School District, Youth Opportunities Unlimited, Cleveland Public Library, Starting Point, Case Western Reserve University and RTA.
