Community Development

The Residential Improvement Bureau assists the Department in provides resources to residents who are in need of housing repair or rehab through three offices:

  • Intake Office
  • Home Repair Office
  • Construction Management Office

This Bureau serves as the Department’s to manage intake and approval of residential applications for housing related resources. Manages construction projects, including residential repair and rehabilitation, drafting scopes of work for contractor-provided services, maintain price lists, recruit contractors, and maintain relationships with contractors.

Intake Universal Residential Grant/Loan Application

The Intake Office processes universal resident grant application submissions and assists residents through the eligibility process. Provides referrals to City and partner programs.

One application replaces multiple application intake points and provides residents with one access point where needs are matched with resources to address home repair, home rehab, and other household needs.

Home Repair

Supervise all home repair and rehabilitation programs. Implements and coordinates the universal residential application across multiple programs and partnerships to ensure that residents’ needs are met. Design and implement home repair programs. Monitors the effectiveness of repair and rehab programs.

Construction Management

Recruit contractors to perform housing repair and housing rehab projects related to multiple funding sources. Maintains contractor rotation, scope of work list, and pricing list necessary to implement programs. Maintains the relationship with contractors and property owners from initial property assessment to project completion. Drafts scopes of work required for contractors.
