Cleveland Division of Police Announces Traffic Information for Cleveland Guardians Home Opener – Tuesday, April 8, 2024 at 4:10 p.m.

The Cleveland Division of Police announces important traffic information in anticipation of the Cleveland Guardians' home opener at Progressive Field on Tuesday, April 8, 2024, at 4:10 p.m. Large crowds are expected, and as such, parking restrictions will be in effect. Please note that all information is subject to change based on real-time traffic and pedestrian conditions. The Cleveland Division of Police Bureau of Traffic may add road closures as needed to ensure public safety. 

As always, your safety is a priority, and we ask all attendees to exercise caution and stay aware of their surroundings. If you see something suspicious, please say something. For emergencies, call 911. For non-emergency issues, contact the Cleveland Police at 216-621-1234. 

Road Closures Traffic 
Expect heavy traffic in the downtown area as fans arrive for the game. To help manage the volume of traffic, the Division of Police will deploy additional officers along key routes. In preparation for the game, several roads near Progressive Field may be temporarily closed or restricted as needed. Officers and Traffic Controllers will be redirecting traffic as circumstance dictate. 

Parking Restrictions 
Due to the expected influx of fans, parking may be difficult to find, and parking lots/garages could fill up quickly. We recommend utilizing RTA services, Ubers or shared ride options. 

Parking restrictions will be in effect beginning at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, April 8, 2024, and will continue through midnight. 

Always check nearby poles, posts, and parking meters for signage outlining parking restrictions. Vehicles found in violation of these restrictions will be ticketed and towed at the owner's expense. Towed vehicles can be retrieved from the City of Cleveland’s Impound Unit at 3040 Quigley Road. 

The following streets will have parking restrictions: 
• East 9th Street: Euclid to Bolivar 
• Huron Road: From Prospect to Ontario 
• East 2nd Street: High to Prospect 
• Prospect Avenue: Ontario to East 9th Street, and East 9th to East 14th Street 
• Bolivar Road: East 9th to Prospect 
• Bolivar Road: East 9th to East 7th Street 
• Huron Road: East 9th to Ontario 
• Sumner Street: East 14th to East 9th 
• Erie Court: East 14th to East 9th
