A total solar eclipse happens when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth, completely blocking the face of the Sun. The sky will darken as if it were dawn or dusk.

City & County Buildings Closed to Public
On Monday, April 8, all city and county buildings will be closed to the public.
The city will be operating, and our staff members will be “all-hands on deck” to make sure all events run smoothly, but the buildings will be closed. We also encourage other employers to consider remote work if possible.
Waste Collection Schedule
Please note that Monday, April 8, 2024, will be treated as a public holiday and city waste and recycling collection will be delayed by one day.
