City of Cleveland Neighborhood Recreation and Resource Centers will be open during the hottest part of the day today, from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The following sites have air conditioning and areas for residents to relax and cool off:
- Zelma George Neighborhood Resource & Recreation Center - 3155 Martin L. King Blvd.
- Collinwood Neighborhood Resource & Recreation Center - 16300 Lakeshore Blvd.
- Halloran Skating Rink - 3550 W. 117th
- Kovacic Neighborhood Resource & Recreation Center - 6250 St. Clair Ave..
- Michael Zone Neighborhood Resource & Recreation Center - 6301 Lorain Ave.
- Sterling Neighborhood Resource & Recreation Center - 1380 E. 32nd Street
- Frederick Douglass Neighborhood Resource & Recreation Center - 15401 Miles Ave.
- Glenville Neighborhood Resource & Recreation Center - 680 E. 113th
- Hamilton Neighborhood Resource & Recreation Center - 13200 Kinsman Ave.
- Stella Walsh Neighborhood Resource & Recreation Center - 7345 Broadway Ave.
Tips to stay cool during the extreme heat:
- Stay in an air-conditioned indoor location as much as you can.
- Drink plenty of fluids even if you don’t feel thirsty.
- Schedule outdoor activities carefully.
- Wear loose, lightweight, light-colored clothing and sunscreen.
- Pace yourself.
- Check on a friend or neighbor and have someone do the same for you.
- Never leave children or pets in cars.
