Electrical permits are required for electrical work and electrical fixtures along with electrical equipment and devices, both new and temporary. This also includes new or repaired illuminated sign connections.
Requirements
Contractors must be bonded, insured, and licensed with the State of Ohio and registered with the City of Cleveland.
Homeowners may apply with a homeowner’s affidavit and do not need to be registered contractors.
The Department of Building and Housing will circulate plans to other City departments when additional reviews are required.
